BA in Visual Communication / Photography (Zürich University of the Arts, ZHdK).
MA in Film & TV Production (University of Bristol).
PhD (Centre for Photographic Research, University of Newport in Wales). Subject of the 2009 doctoral thesis was the influence of Daoist and Zen philosophy on the late work of the British photographer Raymond Moore (1920-1987).
Taught History of Photography at BA and MA levels at the University of Newport in Wales, 2004-2008.
Lead several transdisciplinary projects at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB): Flow, Deceleration, Horror Vacui, Subtle! Subtle! and Invisible - starting in 2008.
Artistic director of the HKB’s Swiss National Fonds (SNF) project ‘Wartezeiten’, 2011- 2014 (in collaboration with Copa & Sordes, Basel).
Teaching photography at the School for Applied Arts in Bern (SFGB-B), 2008-2020: Digital and analogue photography, history of photography, alternative photographic processes, lighting, postproduction.
Committee member of the Biel-Bienne Festival of Photography, 2009-2012.
Active as an artist. Exhibited widely in Switzerland, Great Britain, China and the Netherlands (e.g. at the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, Galerie Billing Baar, SFGB-B, Caerleon Campus Newport, Galerie De Vijf Ramen Arnhem, Kunstvitrine Contrast Bern).
